How Kids Deal+ works
“Sales” on toys and baby gear are full of made-up discounts: the price goes up in October so it can go “50% off” in November. Kids Deal+ exists to cut through that. Here's exactly what we do — and how we pay the bills.
1. We verify discounts against real price history
For every product we track, we look at roughly 90 days of actual selling prices. A deal only makes it onto Kids Deal+ when today's price is meaningfully below that 90-day average — not just below a list price nobody ever paid. Each deal page shows you the chart, the average, and the 6-month low, so you can judge it yourself.
2. We check recalls before we publish
Every product is screened against the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall database before it appears on the site. Anything flagged is dropped automatically — a cheap price is never worth an unsafe product. Deals that passed the check carry a “Recall-checked” mark.
3. We sort deals by your kid's age
Every deal is tagged with a manufacturer age range, so you can filter to exactly what fits your kid right now — from 0-12 months to 12+. Email subscribers can pick age buckets and only hear about deals that match.
4. Our editorial process
Every candidate deal gets a score from our engine based on the depth of the real discount, rating quality, and price-history confidence — and only deals above our publish threshold make the site. Nobody can pay to be featured, and no retailer can buy a better deal score. If a deal isn't real by our numbers, it doesn't run.
5. How we make money
Honest answer: affiliate links. When you click through to Amazon or Walmart and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way — and commissions never influence which deals run or how they score.
